Savitri Choudhury, a widow and ill woman, lives in a lavish mansion in India with her son, Anil. She thinks Anil is only waiting for her to die so he can receive the cash, so she refuses to give him any money. The Diwan persuades Anil to reform his ways, marry, and reconcile with his mother. Anil appears to have changed his ways shortly thereafter, becoming interested in philanthropy and even introducing his mother to a young woman named Deepali.

Deepali moves into the mansion and cares for Savitri so well that she decides to make her the only beneficiary of her estate. What Savitri is unaware of is the fact that Anil has hired Deepali is a to act as his fiancée, and that Deepali herself is not who she claims to be, and truly in love with a local horse-riding peasant, Ajit, who's father was convicted of murdering Savitri's husband, and that Ajit himself will be detained by the police for getting a relationship with and then killing a woman named Sita.

Sachin Bhowmick wrote the 1970 Hindi-language musical drama film Aan Milo Sajna (transl. Come, my sweetheart), which was produced by Jagdish Kumar and directed by Mukul Dutt. Rajesh Khanna and Asha Parekh play the key roles in the film, with Vinod Khanna, Rajendra Nath, and Nirupa Roy providing assistance.
