In the beginning of the movie, Chaban (Kader Khan) stops a drunken Krishna Prasad (Govinda) from trying to end his life. Krishna helps Chaban with his business and becomes friends with him. After showing up for a job interview with Krishna's company, Deepak Bajaj (Rahul Roy) gets employed.

When Deepak's car breaks down one day, Krishna brings him to his house, where he meets Deepak's wife Pooja (Mamta Kulkarni). It is revealed in a flashback that Pooja is attending a party with her friends and that Krishna works as an auto mechanic. Krishna repairs the problem with her car. Krishna is then driven home by Pooja. After maintaining contact, the two finally fall in love. Din Dayal, the father of Pooja (Ajit Vachhani), approaches Krishna and extends an offer of money so that he can start his factory. Krishna, however, declines and says he won't wed Pooja until after he has established himself as a prosperous businessman.

He writes Pooja throughout this period, telling her to move on from him. Pooja is devastated. Krishna is devastated to learn that Pooja has wed someone else when he returns. Deepak and Pooja are invited to Krishna's birthday celebration. When Pooja sees Krishna's mansion, she is taken aback because it had every feature that she had requested and told Krishna about. When Deepak and Pooja first see Krishna, the two try to kiss her as they are all dancing. Deepak becomes enraged by this and slaps Krishna. After that, Krishna apologises to Pooja. After receiving an insult from Deepak, Krishna becomes upset, fights with Deepak, and has him imprisoned on suspicion of embezzling money.

When Deepak's father begs Krishna to free his son, Krishna responds that he needs Pooja in exchange. Dad is furious about this. When Krishna slaps Pooja and tells her that he only loves her and that he is doing this so that she can comprehend his feelings, Pooja believes that Krishna wants to sleep with her.

Deepak is freed by Krishna, and he forces Pooja to leave his home. After that, Master Chaban brings her to his home. When Chaban visits Dharamdas, he discovers that the second letter was burned. Chaban visits Krishna, who escorts Pooja to Deepak and extols Pooja's love for him; nevertheless, Deepak dismisses the tale. Krishna shoots himself to death and passes away in Deepak and Pooja's arms.
