🔵Kolleru Lake(Andhrapradesh)

 

▪️It is the largest freshwater lake located between Krishna and Godavari deltas. 

▪️The lake has been declared as a wildlife sanctuary under India’s Wildlife Protection Act of 1972. 

▪️It is also designated a wetland of international importance under the  

international Ramsar Convention. 

▪️It is an important site for migratory birds including Siberian crane, ibis, red-crested pochards, blackwinged stilts, avocets, common red shanks, wigeons, gadwalls and cormorants, garganeys, herons, flamingos, and painted storks. 

▪️The resident birds include grey pelicans, Asian open-billed storks, painted storks, glossy ibises, white ibises, teals, pintails and shovellers.
