GAZA STRIP

Gaza Strip, is located along the Mediterranean Sea just northeast of the Sinai Peninsula.

The Gaza Strip is a narrow piece of land located on the eastern coast of the Mediterranean Sea. It borders Egypt to the south and Israel to the east and north. The region is about 25 miles (40 kilometers) long and 5 miles (8 kilometers) wide, with a total area of approximately 140 square miles (365 square kilometers).

Politically, the Gaza Strip is a self-governing territory, although it has experienced significant political complexities and conflicts over the years. It is primarily inhabited by Palestinians, and its population is estimated to be around 2 million people.

The Gaza Strip has been a focal point of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict for decades. Following the Arab-Israeli war in 1948 and subsequent conflicts, the area came under Egyptian control until the Six-Day War in 1967 when it was occupied by Israel. Israel withdrew its military and settlers from the Gaza Strip in 2005, but it has maintained significant control over its borders, airspace, and access to the sea.

Since 2007, the Gaza Strip has been governed by Hamas, an Islamist political and military organization. The area has faced economic hardships, a blockade by Israel and Egypt, and frequent clashes with Israel, including military operations and periodic outbreaks of violence.

Humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip have been a concern due to limited access to basic services, high unemployment rates, and inadequate infrastructure. The situation has been further complicated by political divisions among Palestinian factions and ongoing tensions with Israel.

It is a small boot-shaped territory between Egypt and Israel.
