2. Soak the area: Use the wet mop to soak the area you're cleaning. By spreading the water or cleaning solution evenly across the surface, you help loosen dirt, grime, and stains.
3. Agitate the surface: Depending on the type of floor or surface, you may need to agitate it slightly with the mop to help dislodge stubborn dirt. For example, on a tiled floor, you can use a back-and-forth motion to scrub lightly.
4. Wring out excess water: Once you've soaked the area, it's essential to wring out as much water as possible from the mop head. This is typically done by using a wringer or by manually squeezing the mop head with your hands. The goal is to have a damp mop rather than a dripping wet one.
5. Mop up the dirty water: Now, with the damp mop, you can go over the wet area again to pick up the dirty water and any remaining residue. The mop's absorbent material, often made of cotton, microfiber, or synthetic fibers, helps trap and remove the dirt from the surface.
