Captain George Stacy of the police on Earth-65, played by Shea Whigham, is ignorant that his daughter Gwen Stacy, played by Hailee Steinfeld, is Spider-Woman. The police suspect her of killing someone after she was observed leaving the scene of the crime and failed to save her boyfriend from an extraterrestrial assault. One evening, Gwen stumbles onto an other realm with an Italian Renaissance theme that has Jorma Taccone as the Vulture. Vulture was clueless about how he entered Gwen's universe and was also unaware of the multiverse. Oscar Isaac's Spider-Man 2099, Miguel O'Hara, and actress Issa Rae's Earth-332, Jess Drew, arrive via portal-generating watches and assist Gwen in defeating the Vulture. When Gwen turns around and faces George, she tells him who she is, and he gets upset and tries to put her in jail.
Then, by accident, The Spot enters a void and discovers how to go to alternate universes that include Alchemax Colliders in order to gain even more power. While following the Spot, Gwen visits Earth-1610 and gets back in touch with Miles. Gwen informs Miles about the Spider Society, an organisation working to prevent the collapse of the multiverse. Since Peter's death, Gwen claims that Miles is the only true friend she has had. Gwen claims that she would have gone sooner but the society is very particular about where and when she can go. In every other universe, Gwen muses, she falls in love with Spider-Man, and things don't work out. Miles is interested in joining the society, but Gwen tells him that it is an exclusive .
When Miles arrives, he believes he has come home. Upon reaching his bedroom, he confides in his mother Rio everything that transpired. He even claims to be Spider-Man, telling her so. She keeps doing the laundry despite knowing nothing about Spider-Man. Miles, perplexed, keeps trying to clarify before "glitching". Rather of being in his own dimension, Miles discovers he is actually on Earth-42, the home of the spider that attacked him. Miles was dispatched to Earth-42 after the Go-Home device identified the spider's signature from that planet. His father is dead in this universe, but his uncle Aaron Davis (Mahershala Ali) is living; unrestrained crime is rampant in New York City because Spider-Man does not exist.
